Women’s Equality Day
More than 50 Team Osan members ran a Woman's Equality Day 5K Aug. 24, 2012, at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. Lt. Col. Brian Joseph, 7th Air Force operations and plans department director, took first place in a time of 15 minutes and 48 seconds. First Lt. Candice Johnson, 6th Intelligence Squadron, took second place in a time of 16 minutes and 58 seconds. Women's Equality Day commemorates the day when women in America were given full voting rights under the U.S. Constitution by the passage of the 19th Amendment, and in 1971, the Senate and House of Representatives designated Aug. 26 of each year as Women's Equality Day.
