Wild West Night aims to raise over $40k, fund scholarships

OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea --

Osan Air Base’s largest local fundraiser event of the year, Wild West Night, will be held at the Enlisted Club Mar. 24, 2018, from 7-10 p.m. Attendees may participate in live auctions, silent auctions and casino-style games with all proceeds funding scholarships for local and stateside dependents, active duty military, retirees, Department of Defense civilians and contractors attending a university, college or trade school in the 2018-2019 school year.

“Last year Wild West Night raised just shy of $30k, but this year we are hoping to blow that figure out of the water because the main purpose of this night is giving back to Osan,” said Suzanne Pena, Wild West Night Chairwoman. “Get your blue jeans, button up shirts and cowboy boots ready because this will be the best Wild West Night yet!”

Pre-sale tickets will be available at the Base Exchange from Mar. 16-18 and 21, for $5 (E1-E4), $10 (E5-E6), $15 (E7-E9 and civilians), and $20 (all officers). Tickets at the door will cost $5 more than the presale price. While the event is open to all ranks, attendees must be 18 years of age or older to attend.

Entertainment for the night includes a DJ and witty comments by our auctioneer. Those cowboys and cowgirls participating in casino-style games will receive what is called “funny money” in the place of U.S. dollars to play games. A variety of top-notch prizes like gift baskets filled with home business products and Korean home goods may be purchased with funny money winnings in the event’s general store.

This will be the 38th Wild West Night to be held at Osan AB. It is one of many events sponsored by Team Osan Spouses’ Club. For information about Wild West Night visit https://www.facebook.com/wildwestnight or go to http://www.teamosansc.com/ to learn more about TOSC’s role in the community.
