OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea --

The 51st Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Prevention flight will host Fire Prevention Week, beginning Oct. 7, which will bring events, live demonstrations, prizes and festivities to the Osan community.

The week will focus on increasing awareness and educating Airmen and their families about risks, safe habits, and what to do in a fire emergency.

“Our goal is to educate the public on fire safety,” said Master Sgt. Sean Katz, 51st CES assistant chief of fire prevention. “This year’s theme is ‘Look, Listen, Learn’.”

The Fire Prevention flight plans to emphasize the importance of looking for potential fire hazards, listening for the sound of a fire alarm and evacuate, and learning two ways out of every room and planning a meeting place.

The week will culminate with an open house Saturday, Oct. 13, which will include hands-on events and a raffle with two childrens’ bikes up for grabs. Fire Prevention is also scheduled to visit local schools.
