The Battle of Jukmiryeong, fought July 5, 1950, was the first battle the United Nations was involved in during the Korean War. Though Task Force Smith retreated at the end of the battle, they were able to hold the line for six hours and 15 minutes while destroying a significant number of North Korean artillery.
