To kick off Osan's Intramural Volleyball season, the 5th Reconnaissance Squadron Blackcats went head to head with the 51st Civil Engineering Squadron electrics shop. In a two-set match, the CES demonstrated their superior volleyball capabilities.

CE lead throughout the game with a score of 25 to 7 in the first set. The highlight of the match was a volley including both sides that got heated. Spike after spike was blocked and rebounded exciting everyone involved. The second set ended in a game winning ace by Senior Airman Phillip Cao, 51st CE electric shop journeyman. The final score was 25 to 12.

"That volley really showed the team dynamics of us all working together," said Master Sgt. Dave Richardson, 51st CE NCO in charge of expeditionary engineering. "We connected as a team and won because of it. We're looking forward to the rest of the season."

With a total of 16 teams across the base, the season is scheduled to continue through May 22. Each team will participate in seven games and at the end, a double elimination tournament will be held for the top four teams in each division.

"We're hoping to get a good turnout at each game and for the folks participating to have a good time," said Staff Sgt. Tyrone Grigley, 51st Force Support Squadron Fitness Center sports director. "This is all for fun and unit camaraderie."

Units are encouraged to cheer on their teams. Games will be held on Monday through Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the fitness center. All are welcome.
