Dr. Seuss Embraced at Osan Air base
It was 2013 in February, the 28th Day
Osan's pony stampede wanted to play
On a warmer than normal day in Korea,
Osan Air Base's Library had a crazy idea
In order to celebrate an author so admired
Nearly 20 children gathered to be inspired
It was only two days from Dr. Seuss' Birthday
So reading felt like the obvious splendiferous way
Col. Patrick McKenzie, also known as "Smack"
Read to the children all huddled on a colorific blue mat
"I can read with my eyes shut" the wing commander said
Into their noggins fun words were read.
Later the children danced and made giggits
They also made flarts, blarts and other cool wiggits
Reading's a great way to get out and inspire
They read and they played until their eyes got tired
Woohoo and Waahangingly read Col. McKenzie
As the children all laughed in a silly frenzy
Now at end of the day all the ponies can look back and say
What a splendid way to celebrate National Read Across America Day
