Seventh Air Force Annual Award Winners

OSAN AIR BASE, Korea --  The Seventh Air Force Annual Awards recipients were recognized during a formal banquet hosted by Seventh Air Force commander, Lt. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas, Feb. 23, at Osan Air Base.

The ceremony theme, "Legacy of Valor" provided several opportunities to reflect and celebrate those Airmen who blazed the trail for the United States Air Force's oldest numbered air force.

In addition, to recognizing the best of the best, and participating in a touching tribute to the 100,000 U.S. service members were killed in action, listed as missing in action or held as prisoners of war during the Korean War, guests were also introduced to some of the air forces greatest flying Aces who flew under the Seventh Air Force patch. These great Airmen included: Lt. George Welch who flew with the 36th and 80th Fighter Squadrons as well as the 8th Fighter Group; Capt Dolphin Overton of the 16th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, and Col. Robin Olds Commander of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing A.K.A "THE Wolf."
