Courageous Channel Exercise All non-essential civilians and dependents of service members and DOD civilians assigned to Osan will be participating in the base's Courageous Channel Exercise held at the Osan High School Saturday, May 21, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. This exercise will be used to prepare family members for a successful evacuation in the event of an emergency and to ensure accuracy and completion of NEO folders. VFW Armed Force Day Parade The annual VFW Armed Forces Day Parade will be Saturday, May 21 starting at noon at the main gate. More than 25 squadrons and organizations have signed up. Troop formations of 20 to 40 people with unit guide-on, squadron vehicles. We encourage lots of American flags and unit banners in the parade! POW/MIA Dedication The Osan AB POW/MIA Walkway Dedication Ceremony is being held on Saturday, May 21 from 1 to 2 p.m. in front of the Osan AB Base Theater. Summer Hire Program The summer hire program opens May 2 and runs until July 8. Applications are available at the Osan Civilian Personnel Office in Bldg. 936. This program is for dependents of active duty military, DOD civilians, NAF, and AAFES sponsors assigned to Osan Air Base and within the commuting area. Eligible children from ages 14 to 22 may apply. Those 18 years or younger must get parent's consent to participate in the program. College students must be taking at least 12-semester hours or eight hours in a trimester to enroll in the summer hire program. Completed applications must be submitted in person to the CPO Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Positions: Clerk, AD-303-01 Laborer, AD-3502-01 (non-hazardous) Salary: $5.50 Per Hr Work Schedule: 4 Hrs Per Day Program Dates: 20 Jun 10 - 12 Aug 11 Duty Location: Osan AB, Korea Caring for People Forum The next Caring for People Forum is scheduled for June 2 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Professional Development Center Building 788. New post office hours The Osan Post Office Official Mail Center hours have changed. New hours of operation hours are as follows: - Official Mail Center: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed on Saturday and Sunday. - Holidays package pick-up: Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Closed on Sunday. - Drop off/mail out: Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Closed on Sunday. Commander's Corral Tune in to the 51st Fighter Wing Commander's Corral radio program on AFN "The Eagle" 88.5 every first and third Tuesday each month at 7 a.m. The show has been named "Best Radio Information Program" of AFN Korea for last four quarters. The next Corral is scheduled for June 7. Red Cross volunteers The American Red Cross is looking for disaster casework volunteers to assist with the Osan Emergency Family Assistance Control Center. The ARC will provide the following classes free of charge: ARC Orientation, Introduction to Disaster, Fulfilling Our Mission, and Casework Training. The total time for all four classes is eight hours. The Casework Training session is not the full Case Management class but an abbreviated class to fit the needs of Osan.
