Living Pattern Survey available now until April 24

  • Published
The 175th Financial Management Center (FMC) will be conducting a Living Pattern Survey (LPS). The LPS started on March 28 and ends on April 24, 2011.

It is the first part of the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) Survey process. The survey is used to capture the living pattern of service members by identifying the location and amounts of goods and services they purchase. The LPS helps offset the higher prices of non-housing goods and services. The data obtained from the LPS is used to establish the cost of living index for that particular location.

The LPS is web-based, hosted by the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO), and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

The LPS is available to all service members with dependents or unaccompanied members living off-post in Korea more than three months. However, service members with non-Command Sponsored dependents in Korea should not participate in the survey.
