Have you ever considered adoption? Recent studies show about two percent of people consider adoption. Of that number, only one percent of those people actually adopt.

In order to provide more information on adoption, Master Sgt. Mark Reuss from Osan Air Base is organizing a first-ever adoption seminar here with hopes of educating of families on the adoption process and benefits.

The adoption seminar covers all the areas of adoption including, international, domestic/state foster care and the military benefits of adoption. A social worker from the Korean community will be on hand to answer questions.

In the past, Sergeant Reuss has organized two similar seminars in San Antonio, which were attended by more than 150 families. Of those families who attended, five elected to adopt because of information given at the seminars.

Sergeant Reuss invites families who are 'on the fence.' This seminar focuses on three key points: 1) Why adopt 2) How to adopt and 3) The processes involved in general for each of the categories. The seminar is a great way to get started and it is important to note that the seminar will not solely cover adoption in Korea but is designed to cover all aspects of adoption.

The adoption seminar is Dec. 13 from 1:30 - 4:45 p.m. in bldg. 788. The seminar is free. Unfortunately, no childcare is available during the seminar.

For more information on how to register, contact Sergeant Reuss at 784-9155.
