Colonel Norman send farewell message to Team Osan, local community

  • Published
To all Mustangs,

It has been my distinct honor and pleasure to lead the men and women of Team Osan. I have been amazed every single day by the superb professionalism, dedication to the mission and teamwork I have seen. You have become an all-star team!

To our incredible spouses and the team at AFRC, thank you for all you have and will do for this community. I have never seen so few, do so much, for so many.

I had a very simple goal back in June 2007 when I took command of the Mustangs; make this a base the Airmen, Soldiers, families, GS, DODS and KGS employees would be proud to call their home. Your "can do" attitude and selfless dedication to this team has made this goal a reality.

My advice to you as your complete your tour at Osan remains the same: do not waste a single day in Korea. Osan is truly the best kept secret in the Air Force.

The people and culture of this country are absolutely amazing. I hope you will take advantage of every opportunity you can to experience it all. I also hope you will carry the tradition of excellence and pride you have demonstrated at Osan on to your next assignment.

As Kim, Erin, Matt, and I head off to Washington D.C., we will be taking many fond memories of our time and friends in Korea.

I will not say goodbye, but instead ... see you again. From the ROKAF and 7th Air Force Team, to the honorary commanders who are the heart and soul of this base, to all of our incredible friends we have made while at Osan, and most importantly to the Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines at Osan, we will miss you all.

It has been an honor to work with you.

"Mustang 1 Out"
Col. Jon A. Norman
