Mr. George Lisicki, commander-in-chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Mr. Rhett Webber, VFW Department Commander for Pacific Areas visited Osan Air Base during their Far East tour Sept. 5. Mr. Lisicki is also touring military installations in Japan and Taiwan during from Aug. 28 through Sept. 11.

The purpose of their tour is to help the VFW better understand military operations, diplomatic activities and current issues of concern to servicemembers and their families in the Pacific region. Insight gained from this tour helps validate the many positions the VFW takes with Congress, as well as raise any new issues that they can undertake to benefit the military services.

While at Osan, the VFW representatives discussed quality of life issues with Airmen and their families, what the base does to support them, Airmen morale issues and concerns, and where the base is headed for the future.
