Starting Friday, post office customers will find the droid they're looking for as "Star Wars" character R2-D2 begins taking their mail.

In coordination with U.S. Postal Service and Pacific Air Forces Postal Squadron, the Osan Post Office will take part in the 30th anniversary celebration of the release of the original "Star Wars" motion picture by showcasing the R2-D2 mail collection box for three months.

"The 'Star Wars' stamps will also go on sale June 1," said Master Sgt. James Register, 51st Communications Squadron postal flight superintendent. "The Star Wars Saga souvenir sheet features artwork by longtime Star Wars poster artist Drew Struzan."

The sheet includes fifteen first-class stamps that show familiar characters and vehicles from the six movies in the science fiction saga: Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca, Princess Leia Organa and R2-D2, C-3PO, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Emperor Palpatine, stormtroopers, Boba Fett, the Millennium Falcon, an X-wing starfighter, Queen Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and Darth Maul.

Osan residents may enter a drawing to win the first sheet of "Star Wars" stamps, which will be held Friday during the unveiling of the new collection box at 11 a.m. at the post office here. People may register for the drawing today and Friday.
