51st FW announces quarterly award recipients

OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Seven members of the 51st Fighter Wing were recognized at the Second Quarter 51st FW Awards lunch Thursday for their outstanding job performance, commitment to their community and tremendous contributions to the wing and Air Force.

Junior Enlisted Person of the Quarter 
Senior Airman Olga Calle-Angel, 51st MDSS

-  Senior Airman Olga Calle-Angel is the 51st Medical Support Squadron's family member relocation coordinator and TRICARE customer service representative. Her supervisor, Staff Sgt. Chrissy Phillips, said Senior Airman Calle-Angel is an impeccable Airman.
"As Osan's family member relocation coordinator and a TRICARE customer service representative, she willingly meets everyday challenges of her assigned duties with great enthusiasm. Senior Airman Calle-Angel is a model Airman that leads by example and always positively represents the Air Force."

NCO of the Quarter
Tech. Sgt. Barry Gahl, 51st CES 

-  Tech. Sgt. Barry Gahl is a 51st Civil Engineer Squadron utilities system craftsman. His supervisor, Tech. Sgt. Russell Brown, said Tech. Sgt. Gahl is an outstanding NCO.
"Tech. Sgt. Gahl is one of the hardest working, most knowledgeable NCOs I've met in my career.
"His dedication to excellence and to his fellow Airmen has been an inspiration to this section. I am proud to see his hard work being noticed."

SNCO of the Quarter
Master Sgt. David Jamison, 51st MUNS

-  Master Sgt. David Jamison is the NCOIC of the 51st Munitions Squadron storage section. His supervisor, Senior Master Sgt. Jesse Siordia, said Master Jamison is an exceptionally talented leader.
"Since his arrival in November 2005, he has transformed his section into a fine, well oiled machine. In the last quarter he implemented a massive rewarehousing initiative that resulted in the reorganization of more than 60 percent of the wing's munitions arsenal. His efforts have bolstered the wing's vision of a credible and capable force that is "Ready to Fight Tonight."

CGO of the Quarter
1st Lt. Cordy Herring III, 51st MDSS

-  First Lt. Cordy Herring is the officer in charge of the 51st Medical Support Squadron laboratory. Capt. Lauren Chavez, 51st Medical Support Squadron resource management flight commander, said 1st Lt. Herring leads the way.
"First Lt. Herring has been instrumental in keeping the base 'Ready to Fight Tonight' by revitalizing the frozen blood program. If a contingency were to occur, U.S. Forces Korea will have an ample supply of blood to save the lives of injured people in the area. His initiative and desire to help are outstanding."

Manager, Supervisor and Professional of the Quarter
Ms. Scott, Chi Suk, 51st MSS 

-  Ms. Scott, Chi Suk is the manager of the 51st Services Squadron Information, Ticket and Travel office. Her supervisor, Mr. Eldon Garlough, said she is the muscle behind the mission.
"Ms. Scott has done an outstanding job of managing the Information, Ticket and Travel operation for Osan. She offers more than 40 tours and special events each month touching more than 1,000 people. She also does an exceptional job of running the Incheon Shuttle service with seven daily runs, 365 days a year. Her dedication, commitment, and excellence in all she does resulted in an amazing 99 percent customer satisfaction rate."

Trades, Crafts and Laborer of the Quarter
Mr. Yi, Chae Kwon, 51st LRS

-  Mr. Yi, Chae Kwon is an automotive mechanic for the 51st Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle management flight. Senior Master Sgt. Robert Downing, the 51st LRS vehicle management flight chief, said Mr. Yi is nothing short of outstanding.
"He is a gifted maintenance technician who brings a wealth of talent and knowledge to the mission. His expertise in engineering, coupled with his ability to speak fluent English, has proven to be a vital link between our military and civilian personnel for the past six years. His "can do" attitude and enthusiasm to tackle the tough jobs ensures the vehicle management flight can meet all mission requirements."

Administration and Technical Person of the Quarter
Mrs. Michelle Bragg, 51st SVS

-  Mrs. Michelle Bragg is a 51st Services Squadron child development operation clerk at the Child Development Center. Her supervisor, Shalanda Velazquez, said Mrs. Bragg has an outstanding work ethic.
"Mrs. Bragg's exemplary leadership, unyielding dedication and tenacious attitude toward her job makes the school age program the center of attention. Mrs. Bragg goes above and beyond the call of duty ensuring parents, staff and youth receive nothing but top-notch customer service. She sets the standard by which excellence should be measured."
