OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Members assigned to the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron responded to and contained a fuel release at Osan Air Base, Feb 5.
51st CES took immediate action to mitigate impacts to the mission and environment. The source of the release has been confirmed and isolated.
There is no immediate threat to drinking water because drinking water is sourced from off base. The release does not pose a risk to the health or safety of the surrounding community.
Our skilled experts will continue to take action to clean up any remnants in the release site in accordance with applicable laws and environmental practices, including relevant host nation rules and regulations.
