Lt Gen. Gabreski attends 51st Fighter Wing's Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea—Lt. Gen. Terry L. Gabreski, Air Force Materiel Command vice commander, and guest speaker at the 51st Fighter Wing’s Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet March 7, presents her commander’s coin and congratulates Master Sgt. Erik An who was recognized as the Maintenance Support Systems Performer of the Year, Supervisor-Manager category. During her speech to 51st Maintenance Group Airmen, General Gabreski said it was important for aircraft maintainers to exhibit Air Force core values when performing their daily missions of aircraft generation. When pilots perform a walk-around inspection of their aircraft, they finish by reviewing the aircraft forms, checking for the "X" and crew chief's signature certifying that the aircraft is ready for flight. The "X" and signature on the forms also signify the aircraft crew chief's integrity and provides a mutual bond of trust between the crew chief and the pilot, said the general. Additionally, General Gabreski presented Maintenance Professional of the Year awards to 51st Maintenance Group Airmen. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Master Sgt. Marvin Krause)
