The few, the chosen...Quick Response Team

Airmen of the 51st Security Forces endure day zero during the Quick Response Team try-outs here, July 8. During the intense training, SF members' were challenged both physically and mentally to complete required elements to continue training. Day zero, also known as ‘smoke day’, 27 Airmen were asked to meet and befriend fatigue performing, 70 pound buddy low and high drags/carries, a 5k with 100 pound log carried as a squad, clearing buildings and tactical troop movements. Physical training sessions were themed in memory of the 31 warriors lost in Afghanistan, July 7, by each volunteer completing 31 of each exercise throughout the course. A QRT member provides immediate response to any high risk situation on Osan Air Base to include barricaded suspects, workplace violence, domestic violence and abuse response, school violence, and disaster response.
