Ensuring pilots it won't be a cold one
An Air Crew Flight Equipment Journeyman, Senior Airman Anthony Sportsman from the 51st Operation Support Squadron inspected an anti-exposure suit using the water tester. Airman Sportsman sealed the feet, arms and neck openings of the anti exposure suit. Once sealed, he filled the suit with water. After the suit was completely filled with water, he looked for beads of water to form [an indication of a small hole or tear]. In the event that a small hole or tear is found Airman Sportsman circles the area with a black grease pencil. When all the holes are found and circled, Airman Sportsman then empties the suit, turns it inside-out and sets it to dry for the necessary repairs to be made. The anti-exposure suit is a vital operational item and mandatory for pilots that fly over waters that have a temperature of 50 degrees or below.(U.S. Air Force Photo by/Staff Sgt. Daylena Gonzalez)
