OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Emergency responders at Osan Air Base, Korea, practiced a newly drafted humanitarian evacuation plan during an Emergency Management Exercise May 23. The scenario was fairly familiar: Japan supposedly experienced a devastating earthquake that made it necessary for Americans stationed there to evacuate the region. Children from Osan Middle School participated in the exercise by simulating passengers on a plane full of evacuees. The children were provided with bags of simulated "vomit" and had symptom cards placed around their neck to add complexity and realism to the experience. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
