Osan pilot ‘rescued’ during readiness exercise

Capt. Miles Newsome, a 25th Fighter Squadron pilot, and Staff Sgt. Emanuel Espino-Mata, a Survival Evasion Restience and Escape specialist, sit and wait for an inbound helicopter during a combat search and rescue scenario in Jeugaun, Republic of Korea, March 16. The evaluation tested Captain Newsome's survival techniques such as gathering all evidence of his landing and concealing it with nearby brush. Then the captain also communicated with an A-10 providing cover for rescue efforts. (U.S Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Daylena Gonzalez)
