Unsung Heroes

OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Members of the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron Electric Shop work in the heat July 12 to keep Osan up and running. It is the tremendous efforts of the behind-the-scenes Mongrels that keep quality of life systems like heat and air conditioning running daily. The electric shop plans operations like these extensively to maximize safety and minimize downtime. Mongrel. Chong "Father" Hwon Yi and Senior Airman Jarvis Jones watch as the oil switch they disconnected gets lowered to the ground with a line truck. One of the last functions of the operation is removing the safety equipment. Senior Airman Earnest Perkins and Staff Sgt. Dayrone Henry remove a ground set which is clamped into place with insulated sticks rated higher than the 13,800 volts that normally flow through these lines. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt.
