Section Chief, Air Freight

Master Sgt. Latonya C. Jones is a native of West Palm Beach, Florida. She is the oldest of 11 siblings and the only sibling still serving in the military. Her dad and his three younger brothers all served one enlistment in the Army as Infantry. Jones chose to enlist in the Air Force and still enjoys her day-to-day of growing and giving to Airmen after serving more than 20 years of active duty. Currently, she serves as the Air Freight Section Chief of the 731 Air Mobility Squadron, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. Jones manages a cohesive shop of 51 Airmen, non-commissioned officers and Korean Nationals. Her Airmen are trained to load and download all facets of cargo from various aircraft including the C-5 Galaxies, C-17 Globemasters, C-130 Hercules, and the KC-135 Stratotankers. She is responsible for all air freight cargo operations for U.S. Forces Korea while supporting the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, U.S. Transportation Command, Combined Forces Command and United Nations Command. Additionally, she is responsible for planning, implementing and administering educational training that enhances performance in combat operations for my Airmen and Non-Commissioned Officers to accomplish the overall mission. Finally, as the elected Vice President of Osan’s African American Heritage Council, she plans, coordinates, and directs activities throughout the year that heighten cultural impact awareness between all cultures at Osan AB and the surrounding community.
