Osan Air Base trains on the Alternate Landing Strip

An F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned to the 36th Fighter Squadron waits to take-off on an alternate landing strip (ALS) prior flying a training sortie at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Sept. 14, 2022. When the ALS is activated, the taxiway can become an active air strip. This reallocation of flightline space ensures that aircraft can take-off and land despite damage to the main runway.
