Aircrew, AFE’s got your back
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Joseph Asante, 51st Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment (AFE) journeyman, performs routine maintenance on an HGU-55 helmet at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Dec. 8, 2022. Asante replaced the nape strap on the helmet to ensure proper fit for the pilot. AFE Airmen maintain the aircraft components that may save the life of aircrew in an emergency situation.
