Reflecting on 75 years with the 51 FW

The 51st Fighter-Interceptor Wing emblem embraced Greek mythology, themed with a winged pegasus armed with machine guns in flight. The group commander received permission from Mobil Oil Co. to use its trademarked red pegasus as a basis for their emblem and added a scroll with the motto: Deftly and Swiftly. (Courtesy photo)
