Heraldry of the Mustangs (Pegasus Emblem)
The official heraldry of the 51st Fighter Wing. Originally approved on Feb. 5, 1942, for the 51st Pursuit Group, the emblem features a winged Pegasus firing machine guns in flight, symbolizing swift and decisive airpower. The design was modified in May 1956 and later updated with the Wing's current motto, "Leading the Charge."
