The Combined Federal Campaign ended Dec. 2, and Osan Air Base and other Area V personnel generously donated a total of $266,000, exceeding the base's monetary goal by almost $37,000.

More than 5,000 people were contacted, according to Maj. Jason Erb, CFC Community Project Officer, meeting the primary goal of the program - 100 percent opportunity to contribute.

"Every single unit had a CFC representative or two, who made absolutely sure that every person in their units had a chance to donate," he said. "The results of this campaign are a direct result of their hard work, and the generosity of those who donated."

Osan's donations contributed to the wider Pacific Command effort, which raised $4.8 million total across all components of the combatant command. This is the 50th anniversary of CFC, one of two charities officially endorsed by the U.S. Air Force.

"Team Osan and Area V Airmen really stepped up this year to give to a worthwhile cause," said Col. Mark DeLong, 51st Fighter Wing vice commander. "Literally thousands of organizations benefit from donations by members of our military communities. I'm proud of the compassion and generosity everyone has shown this holiday season."

The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Over the last 10 years, CFC has collected well over $2 billion from federal employees for nationally recognized charities.
