Job title: Storeroom technician

Job description and its impact on the overall mission: I work at the Pacific House Dining Facility as a storeroom technician. My job consists of ordering, receiving, storing, and inventorying all food that comes into the dining facility. Without these rations, our chefs would not be able to meet mission demands and customers' expectations. The most important aspect of my job is to maintain a safe food supply in accordance with federal sanitation and storage standards.

Time in the military: I have been in the military for about one year, eight months.

Time at Osan: 16 months, and I still have about eight months to look forward to.

DEROS: April 2012

Hometown: I was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., in 2001.

Hobbies: I enjoy boxing, playing sports and lifting weights

Why did you join the military? To serve our great country and to get my education.

Where do you see yourself in 10 or 20 years? Owning a fitness center or a fancy restaurant.

What do you do for fun here? I enjoy hanging with friends and exploring the beautiful country of Korea. I also like working out in the fitness center.

What's your favorite Air Force memory or story? I have had many great memories since I joined the Air Force, but going through Basic Military Training held some memories I will never forget

What accomplishment are you most proud of? During the recent Hennessy Food Service Evaluation, I won the Hennessy Traveler's Award. I flew to Chicago for a week to be recognized, and I will also attend Greystone Culinary School, St. Helena, Calif., for a week in September. This entire experience means a lot to me.

Who are your role models? My mother and father have greatly influenced me; they are who I look up to every moment of my life. I also received great support from great leaders like TSgt Matthew Shaver, SSgt Tia Thomas, and SSgt Carlos Vazquez who pushed me and kept me on the right track before they moved from Osan recently.
