Janet Budzinack Published Nov. 7, 2010 OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- Unit: 51st Fighter Wing Exercises and Plans Job title: NCOIC, 51st FW Exercises and Plans Job description and its impact on the overall mission: I am responsible for coordinating all facets of wing combat readiness in support of the 51st FW Exercises and Plans. I manage the training needs for a 200-person exercise evaluation team comprised of experts from 51st FW and tenant units at Osan AB. I also serve as munitions custodian, 51st FW Gatekeeper, and records custodian. I aid in planning, executing, and evaluating Initial Readiness, Combat Employment and Emergency Management Exercises. Time in the military: 15 years Time at Osan: Five months DEROS: June 2011 Family: Married with two boys, ages 3 and 5. Mom, four sisters and one brother. Hometown: Fontana, Calif. Hobbies: Going to church, reading, music, watching National Football League games, tennis, going to the movies, running/lifting weights, and going on Information, Tickets and Travel tours. Why did you join the military? My best friend joined and told me what an amazing experience she was having. One and a half months later I was in and loving it. Where do you see yourself in 10 or 20 years? I love food and I love to cook. I would like to have my own little breakfast/lunch diner. I would also love to travel and do mission work with children. What do you do for fun here? I go on lots of tours with my friends and enjoy the cuisine. What's your favorite Air Force memory or story? Before I came here, each Airman at my last base told me how much I meant to them and how much they were going to miss me. They told me I had made a huge difference. What accomplishment are you most proud of? Having made it this far in the military, because I had a rough start, but thanks to great supervisors I got it together and never looked back. Also, making master sergeant this year is a huge deal. Who are your role models? My mother who raised three girls by herself. All of the single moms and dads who take care of their kids. Senior Master Sgt. Divina Jones (51st Medical Support Squadron Superintendent) shows how to take care of your people. 1st Lt. Conor Riley (51st FW Exercises and Plans) is currently training me on the job and he is one of the strongest, most professional young officers I have met in my Air Force career.
