Osan officer named Air Force ISR Agency CGO of the Year

The Air Force Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency announced their Outstanding Airmen and Unit of the Year for 2009 in a ceremony March 4.

The awards ceremony recognized 13 categories including: Airmen, Non-Commissioned Officer, Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, First Sergeant, Chaplain, Company Grade Officer, Field Grade Officer, Civilian Category I, Civilian Category II, Civilian Category III, IMA Enlisted, IMA Officer, and Outstanding Unit.

"Our nominees represent excellence in all we do and epitomize our Airman's Creed 24/7, 365," said Chief Master Sgt. Paul H. Weseloh, Air Force ISR Agency command chief. "At home and abroad these ISR warriors have gone above and beyond to meet our mission, community and family needs. I am very humbled to represent them as their Command Chief."

The OAY banquet recognizes the nominees for their superior leadership, job performance, community involvement and personal achievements.

"All I can think about are all my team mates back at ... Hickam Air Force Base and how they enabled me to get here," said Senior Airman Sheryl Moore, 8th Intelligence Squadron Multi-Source Analyst, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. "This will help me to help others; my experience [has been] amazing. I want to turn around and help everybody around me and encourage them to do the best they can at everything they do.

The Outstanding Airmen of the year for the Air Force ISR Agency are:

The Airman category: Senior Airman Cheryl Moore a Multi-Source Analyst assigned for the 8th Intelligence Squadron (Distributed Ground System-5), Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

The NCO category: Staff Sergeant Joseph McClelland an operations-intelligence integrator Global Harvest Program, A2 Directorate, Headquarters Air Force ISR Agency, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

The Senior NCO category: Master Sergeant Zak Petrovic a cyber transport system craftsman assigned to 7th Intelligence Squadron with duty at the National Security Agency, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

The First Sgt. category: Master Sergeant Gordon B. Evarts is the First Sergeant for 301st Intelligence Squadron, Misawa Air Base, Japan that is a tenant unit assigned to the 70th Intelligence Wing based at Ft. George Meade, Maryland.

The Chaplain category: Captain Julian Gaither a Protestant staff chaplain assigned to 88th Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

The CGO category: Capt. Kathryn Fitzgerald, a flight commander for weapons and tactics assigned to the 303d Intelligence Squadron, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea.

The FGO category: Maj. Douglas W. Woodard a director of operations for the 450th Intelligence Squadron, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

The Civilian category I: Wanda A. Sims a Casualty and SBP Counselor for 707th Force Support Squadron, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

The Civilian category II: Brian T. Yanik is assigned to the 13th Intelligence squadron at Beale Air Force Base, Calif. where he conducts near-real-time explotation of intelligence data collected by airborne ISR aircraft.

The Civilian category III: Scott F. Stalford is the Air Force ISR Agency/A2 branch chief for the operations intelligence integration division, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

The IMA Enlisted category: TSgt Kegerreis a reserve electronic signals Intelligence analyst assigned to the 7th Intelligence Squadron, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

The IMA Officer category: Lt. Col. Theresa L. Maclaughlin a reservist that performed director of staff duties for the Air Force ISR Agency at the 480 ISR WG, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia

The Outstanding Unit category: 25th Intelligence Squadron from the 361st ISR Group at Hurlburt Air Base, Florida.

The winners will compete at the Air Force District of Washington OAY Awards ceremony before heading to the Air Force level of competition for the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year.
