Half-Marathon Celebrates ROKAF-USAF Friendship

The 607th Air Operations Center is sponsoring the Sabre Run 2009 Oct. 17 here to provide a venue to observe the great alliance and friendship that exists between the Republic of Korea and the United States. 

The race is free for all participants and runners will have the opportunity to meet an Olympic Gold Medalist. 

"We want to provide an event where Republic of Korea air force and U.S. Air Force families can get together with civilians from all over the peninsula to celebrate the friendship that we have." 

Sabre Run 2009 will consist of a half-marathon, 10k, 5k, and children's run and is part of the 7th Air Force Good Neighbor and 607th AOC Heritage Programs. 

The races will start promptly at 10 a.m. Race day show time and last-minute registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the softball fields behind the Mustang Gymnasium. 

The course will begin at the Osan Airbase softball fields and encompass a run through the golf course, ROKAF static displays, Osan flight line, and historic Hill 180. The 10k, 5k, and children's races will consist of a portion of the half-marathon main event.
