Educational Needs Assessment: The base education office is conducting an Educational Needs Assessment. Let them know how they can meet your educational needs by completing the annual needs assessment survey. Go to https://rso.my.af.mil/afvecprod/needs/, then select Osan from the drop-down menu.

Movie Night: The CoRC and Services squadron, are co-sponsoring a FREE outdoor movie initiative. The first movie will be Tropic Thunder, held May 16 at 9 p.m. at the field behind the 1400 series dorms with free hotdogs and soda. The movie will be picnic style, so bring your blankets and chairs.

Relationship Seminar: "Keys to a Healthy Relationship-Knowing Yourself" seminar is scheduled for May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Chapel Annex with Guest Speaker Chaplain Carolyn Barksdale, Air Force Director Clinical Pastoral Education. For more information, call the chapel at 784-5000.

Armed Forces Day Parade: The Annual Veterans of Foreign Wars and Osan Air Base Armed Forces Day Parade is scheduled for May 16 at noon, down Songtan Blvd. If you would like to participate, contact Mr. Keith Michael at 784-6783.

Spiritual Weekend: Osan Chapel presents Spiritual Renewal Weekend beginning May 15 at 7:30 p.m. with a Worship Service at the Base Chapel. May 17 at 11 a.m. there will be a gospel Service at the High School and a Contemporary service at 5 p.m. at the Base Chapel with Guest speaker Chaplain Carolyn Barksdale. For more information,

Build-a-Boat: Services will host a base wide build-a-boat contest May 23 at 9:30 a.m. at the Defender Outdoor Pool. Participants must be registered by May 22. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. For more information, call 784-9116.

Single/Unaccompanied Retreat: The Protestant Chapel will host a retreat for single
and unaccompanied personnel May 22-25 (Memorial Day weekend) at Taecheon
Beach, ROK. Cost is $60 per person and includes transportation, lodging and meals.

Holiday Observance: Memorial Day, May 25, is a legal holiday for U.S. civilian employees and the liberal leave policy is in effect for Korean National non-essential
civilian employees. Supervisors should ensure the time and attendance card for KN civilian employees who wish to be off that day are properly coded to reflect the
appropriate leave code, i.e. annual leave, etc. Organizations with KN civilian employees that require supervision must ensure adequate supervision is available. If an office is going to be closed, KN civilian employees can be required to take annual leave but management must provide them with a 24-hour advance notice. PACAF Family Day: Friday, May 22, is a designated "FAMILY DAY" for 7th Air Force and 51st Fighter Wing. Liberal leave policy will be in effect for U.S. and KN civilian employees. Since this is not an official holiday for civilian employees, those
who are required to work will not be paid holiday premium pay or allowed a substitute
day off. Non-essential U.S. and KN civilian employees who wish to take this
day off must request and be approved for annual leave or leave without pay if no accrued annual leave is available. For more information, contact Mr. Kim or Ms. Kim of the Civilian Personnel Flight at 784-4434/8177.

Pennsylvania State University Gospel: The chapel invites the Osan community to a performance by Pennsylvania State University Gospel Choir May 30 at 7 p.m. in the Osan High School auditorium. For more information, contact the chapel at 784-5000.

Volunteers for Playground Duty Needed: The Osan American Elementary School is seeking volunteer playground monitors. Volunteers will help monitor students during recess and play games with students. Monitors are needed for both outside and inside games. Any time that one can volunteer is greatly appreciated. For more information, please contact Ms. Monica Hoagland at 784-6912.

Cold Steel Sprint Triathalon: The triathalon is scheduled for June 13 at 9 a.m. and is open to anyone else up for the challenge. The event will start at the Osan Airbase Pool, and will consist of the elite division, age groups and teams. Pre-registration cost is $25 for individuals and $35 for teams through June 5.
