Traveling Table Tennis Show: Team Osan will have the chance to view the Preiss family's traveling table tennis show featuring Scott Priss and his son Austin Preiss from 7-8 p.m. April 6 in the fitness center here. Scott has appeared on The Best Damn Sports Show, ESPN, Regis and Kathy Lee, The Donny and Marie Show, The CBS Morning show and others. For the past three years Scott has performed with his sons Austin and Adam. 

Information Technology upgrade: General Dynamics Information Technology, Beyond Communications Corporation, a host nation company, and the 51st Communications Squadron will team up to install and test the upgrade for 269 Osan AB facilities. The project will kick-off April 1 and continue through December 10 this year. As a result expect to see construction and temporary traffic restrictions throughout the base. The construction will allow teams to install 74 manholes, more than 87,000 feet of conduit and over 229,000 feet of fiber optic cable. Government work centers may also experience interruptions in internet service, but rest assured they will be coordinated well beforehand and will be short in duration. Super Pyongtaek walk/hike: The Super Pyongtaek 5.8K walk/hike takes place April 11 beginning at 9:30 a.m. The walk will begin at Ichung LePorts Park. To register, send an e-mail to se.chon@osan.af.mil with first and last name, last four of social, phone number and e-mail address. The registration fee is $3.00 and is due by March 19. Registration includes souvenir, guid book and runner number. For more information, call 784-6567.

DRMO ceases receiving/processing shipments: Due to the operational readiness inspection in April cargo movements in the 51st Logistics Readiness Squadron will cease receiving/processing DRMO shipments on April 1. Normal DRMO processing will re¬sume April 28.

Educational Needs Assessment: The base education office is conducting an Educational Needs Assessment. Let them know how they can meet your edu¬cational needs by completing the annual needs assessment survey. Go to https://rso.my.af.mil/afvecprod/needs/, then select Osan from the drop-down menu.

Osan Junior Enlisted Counsel "Toys for Orphans": To strengthen our ties with our host country and the Songtan Community the OJEC is holding a Toys for Orphans drive beginning April 6 - May 29. The OJEC is hoping to collect enough toys to donate to different Orphanages in the area. Modern Army Combatives Invitational Family Readiness Group (FRG) Burger Burn: The 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Modern Army Combatives Invitational Family Readiness Group (FRG) Burger Burn takes place April 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in front of the Osan Fitness Center. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, breakfast foods, baked goods, refreshments, coffee and more.

AF Form 1357s now need to be typed: A new financial requirement mandates all AF Form 1357s be typed. Unfortunately, this form is not available on the Air Force Publications website. IMPORTANT: Members must bring three typed copies of the 1357, two copies of orders, hotel receipt(s) and a non-availability letter (if applicable). The housing office staff will continue to review and verify the form and receipts for accuracy prior to submitting to finance. This change will not only ex-pedite the process, but will alleviate many customers from wasting their lunch hours waiting to get their forms typed by our clerks. If one of our customers does not have access to a computer, there are two customer service computers available in the waiting area for their use. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Bender or Ms. Pelliccia at 784-1840.

AFN Korea airing HBO movie "Taking Chance": AFN Korea will air the HBO movie "Taking Chance" on AFN/Movie, March 28 at 8 p.m. without commercial interruptions. Due to the mature content, parental discretion is advised for younger viewers. Taking Chance is based on a true story that follows the journey of military escort Lt Col. Michael Strobl as he takes the remains of young Marine Lance Corporal Chance Phelps back to his family. Inspired by Strobl's personal journal that he kept following the outpouring of support he received along his journey, this story is a true tribute to all the fallen and those who carry them home. Volunteers for Playground Duty: Osan American Elementary School is seeking volunteer playground monitors. Volunteers would help monitor students during recess and play games with students. We need monitors for both outside and inside games. There are 3 different "shifts" of recess time; total recess time is from 1130 - 1245. Any time that one can volunteer is greatly appreciated. Child Development Center: Classroom Assistants needed to help set-up Pre-School classroom for activities, crafts and decorating. Volunteers will not be able to 'care' for children or be left alone, but could read to them and help them with crafts. POC: Ms. Shalanda Velazquez, 784-4966.

SARC: Needs Victim Advocates: 40 hr training provided; Provides essential support, liaison services and care to victims of Sexual Assault. Osan Animal Shelter (Weekend Opportunity): Volunteers 16 years or older are needed to walk and play with dogs and puppies, play with cats and kittens, and help with shelter cleaning during one of the three daily scheduled shelter times. Applications can be picked up at the Osan Veterinary Treatment Facility, Bldg 766, Monday-Friday, 0900-1200 and 1330-1630.

51st Medical Group: Volunteer needed to work in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Outreach (ADAPT). Flexible hours. POC: Maj Moore, 784-2149.

Thrift Shop (Weekend Opportunity): Volunteers needed Mondays 0900-1300, Tuesdays 0930-1400, and first Saturday of each month 0930-1400. POC: Mrs. Sherri Becker at 784-3435 or 011-9671-2586; sherri.becker@us.army.mil.

Those interested in volunteering should register at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Building 769. The point of contact is Mrs. Christy Casper at 784-5440. The AFRC and Air Force Aid Society can provide guidance on obtaining free childcare for registered base volunteers. Note: Free childcare is not available for Thrift Shop, private organizations, social functions, or dental "training" program volunteers.
