7th AF Warriors,

This Friday marks the beginning of a very special Korean holiday called Chusok.

Chusok is similar to our American Thanksgiving in that it is a time for families to gather and take part in traditional festivities.

Chusok is usually held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. This year's holiday falls on Sept. 15.

In honor of our Korean hosts and Chusok, all Seventh Air Force servicemembers and civilian employees will enjoy a three-day weekend from Sept. 13 to 15.

Please take this opportunity to not only celebrate with your family, friends, and Korean neighbors, but also reflect on the history and tradition behind the U.S.-ROK alliance.

I encourage each you to make the most of this three-day weekend; but you should be aware that this is the time of the heaviest traffic experienced on the Korean peninsula and carefully consider plans to avoid it.

Also, remember it is important that you enjoy the holiday safely and in a manner befitting your status as professional Airmen and representatives of our Air Force and nation.

As always, it remains my honor to serve with you.
