Team Osan to host POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony

Team Osan's POW/MIA Recognition Day ceremony is Sept. 19 at 3 p.m., in the base chapel. The guest of honor is Maj. (retired) Curley Knepp, a Korean War veteran. The guest speaker is Glen Gardner, Veterans of Foreign Wars commander-in-chief.

The ceremony will conclude outside the chapel with a firing party and flyover.

In addition, the Osan POW/MIA 24-Hour Vigilance Run is begins at 3 p.m., Sept. 18 at the base chapel. The run will end at 3 p.m., Sept. 19 during the POW/MIA ceremony at the chapel.

Units can sign up for a 30-minute or 1-hour shift to run with the POW/MIA flag. Suggested run time is 30 minutes per runner over a 1.2-mile loop. A minimum of two runners must sign up for each 30-minute shift.

The Air Force or Army PT uniform will be worn by military members and appropriate civilian equivalent for civilians. For more information, contact Senior Master Sgt. Craig Hall at 784-4710.
