An Airman from the 51st Operations Support Squadron was recently named the Air Force's Outstanding Enlisted Intelligence Instructor for 2007.

Tech. Sgt. Jared McGuire won the award while serving as an enlisted intelligence course instructor at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas.

"I am extremely honored by this award since it is an award that is specifically related to my area of expertise," he said. "It means I have been recognized by my peers as an asset to the community."

During 2007, Sergeant McGuire taught 510 students. In addition to standard instructional duties, he also advise the intelligence career functional managers on the revision of the career field's specialty training standards, as well as adding in-depth analysis training to the career field's training plan.

"Sergeant McGuire is a testament of the dedicated and motivated personnel we have in the Air Force, especially in the intelligence career field," said Maj. Kenneth Dean, 51st OSS. "It makes my job easy when you have an NCO of this caliber. He is a true model to all our Airmen."

Sergeant McGuire, an eight-year Air Force veteran, thanked his leadership for recognizing his hard work.

"I appreciate my flight leadership for submitting me for this award and giving me the opportunity to compete against the best instructors in the Air Force," he said.

He also reminded his fellow Airmen to continue their education, both on and off duty.

"The best advice I can give anyone is to remind them that your career field training is never done," he said. "Continue to read and learn about your career, things related to your career or anything that interest you. It will help make you better person and Airman."
