The 51st Fighter Wing will host its annual Air Power Day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7 here.

The theme for this year's event is "Heritage to Horizons," as the U.S. Air Force celebrates its 60th anniversary.

All DOD cardholders, military, civilian and their families, as well as Republic of Korea military members, are welcome to attend this event. Non-DOD cardholders are able to attend by invitation only.

The event features aircraft displays from the Republic of Korea and the United States inventory, as well as displays of the U.S. Army Patriot Missile System and various ROK Army Air Defense Artillery Systems. Aerial demonstrations include Combat Search and Rescue featuring A-10 Thunderbolt IIs, F-16 Fighting Falcons and an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter, as well as the F/A-18F Super Hornet demonstration team.

The following items cannot be brought on base: pets, skates or skate boards, bicycles, glass containers, non-factory sealed factory containers, alcohol, weapons, backpacks or large purses, or coolers.

The general public will enter through the Doolittle Gate only. Due to limited parking on and off-base, driving personally-owned vehicles is highly discouraged. Military buses from Yongsan and surrounding military installations will run as normally scheduled. Shuttle buses at the Songtan train station will run to and from the base throughout both days of the event.
