Republic of Korea General Salutes Airmen and Their Families Published Sept. 17, 2007 OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- On the U.S. Air Force's 60th Anniversary, Republic of Korea Lieutenant General Cho, Won Kun, commander of the Air Force Operations Command salutes Airmen and their families for their dedicated service on the peninsula and around the world. "I'd like to offer my congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the U.S. Air Force. Also, I would like to convey my appreciation to the men and women of the U.S. Air Force who have dedicated themselves in securing peace and democracy of the Republic of Korea. Since its establishment in 1947, the U.S. Air Force has made significant contributions fostering democracy and peace in the world wide regions as well as the national security of both ROK and the United States. Since the U.S. Air Force's participation in the Korean War, it is with great pride that I see the Combined Air Force as one of the strongest peace keepers of the world. In the future, I hope that through our close friendship and faith, our Combined Air Force will be able to make a vital contribution not only towards peace within the Peninsula but throughout the world as well.
