Members of Team Osan are excellent at many things, and training for any contingency is one of them.

Members of the 51st Maintenance Squadron aircraft fuel system maintenance flight conducted aircraft confined space rescue training Friday.

The exercise consisted of individuals simulating being incapacitated in a confined space due to fumes, and then being evacuated by personnel from the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron fire department.

"We have one of the toughest jobs in aircraft maintenance," said Master Sgt. Jackson 51st MXS aircraft fuel system maintenance flight chief. "And we also have an outstanding and very well trained group of guys who work in fuel system repairs."

After evacuating the simulated injured airmen, the fire department went through the steps of providing emergency life saving procedures.

The training is an annual requirement for members of the fuel system maintenance flight, and Friday's training concluded the training of all the new personnel here at Osan.

"The overall outcome of the exercise was excellent. The airmen showed the right sense of urgency, and kept their heads. Everyone did their part," said Master Sgt. Jackson after the exercise had concluded Friday.
