Large protest near Osan gates Published Aug. 12, 2015 By Staff Report 51st Fighter Wing Public Affairs OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea -- A 1,000-person protest is expected from approximately 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, (Aug. 14) in the vicinity of Osan AB, to include demonstrations at the Main, Morin and Doolittle gates. Expect the Main and Morin gates to be closed to all traffic from 2 to 5 p.m. The Doolittle Gate visitor center will also be closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Members of Team Osan should have alternate plans ready "AFOC gate" throughout the day and avoid the Songtan Entertainment District during these periods. Although violence is not expected, we encourage everyone to avoid the area if possible. In addition to protestors, the Korean National Police will deploy riot police to ensure the safety of all people. Expect traffic delays immediately off base.
