Osan Airman identified

A U.S. Air Force senior airman was found dead in his dormitory, May 4, 2015.

Senior Airman Kevin Bittinger's cause of death is currently under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Bittinger, a Pavements and Construction Equipment Journeyman, was assigned to the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron and arrived at Osan in May 2014. A native of Wapakoneta, Ohio, he is survived by his parents.

"The loss of Kevin is a devastating blow to the team," said Lt. Col. Jack Wheeldon, 51st CES commander. "Our thought and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. From RED HORSE to Prime BEEF, Kevin has done so much for the air force and he will be truly missed."

A memorial service for Bittinger will be held at the Osan Officers' Club, Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., and is open to all members of Team Osan.
