News Release: Osan Airman Identified

OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea --  A U.S. Air Force technical sergeant assigned to the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron died here at approximately 11:30 p.m. Feb. 9.

Tech. Sgt. Carl S. Cruz, firefighter, collapsed following a gym workout and was transported to the 51st Medical Group emergency room, where he was unable to be resuscitated. 

"Carl was a tremendous person and an incredible firefighter--his loss will be felt across Team Osan, and the entire Korean peninsula," said Col. Brook Leonard, 51st Fighter Wing commander.  "As we mourn him, our thoughts and prayers are with the Cruz family during this difficult time."
