The 2014 Air Force Assistance Fund campaign kicked off here March 24.

The goal for this year's drive is to bring in more than $105,000 for the Air Force Aid Society, which loaned more than $54,000 to 70 military families at Osan in 2013.

"The Air Force Aid Society is Airmen helping Airmen, which is really great," said Nichole Monzon, Osan AFAS officer. "This stays within the community. Your contributions will help an Airman with education, community programs or emergency financial assistance."

No matter the amount, every contribution will make a difference, said Col. Brook Leonard, 51st Fighter Wing commander.

"We have an institution here that provides us an environment for action," Leonard said. "We saw how that comes directly back here to our folks and we're always looking for how we can help people. I know finances can be tight, but that action of giving does a lot more than just provide money, it really makes a change inside of us and inside the team."
