Osan mourns loss of two Airmen

Airmen from the 7th Air Force and 51st Fighter Wing mourned the loss of two Airmen during memorial services held at the Osan Chapel Wednesday and Thursday. 

In unrelated incidents, two Airmen stationed in the Republic of Korea were found dead Nov. 2, one near his family's home in Minnesota and the other in his place of residence in Gwang Ju, South Korea. 

Staff Sgt. Troy A. Schultz, 33, a combat medic with the 51st Medical Operations Squadron, was reported missing Oct. 28 while on his mid-tour leave at his family's home in Pelican Rapids, Minn., and was later found dead in a nearby frozen, shallow pond. Staff Sgt. Schultz joined the Air Force Jan. 15, 1997, and is survived by his parents and three siblings. 

Tech. Sgt. Augusto S. Quimpo Jr., 41, a supply management craftsman with the 607th Materiel Maintenance Squadron Det. 1, was found dead in his dormitory room. Tech. Sgt. Quimpo joined the Air Force Aug. 15, 1989, and is survived by his wife and two daughters age 10 and 4. 

Both deaths are still under investigation.
