The service members of Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, we're tested in a number of emergency incidents July 21-25, including an active-shooter exercise July 24.

The scenario involved multiple gunmen attacking several places on base at various times. After the attacks started, emergency responders from the Security Forces Squadron, Civil Engineer Squadron and others, we're tested on their capabilitiy to respond, subdue the threat and begin performing emergency response operations. Later on additional aspects of Team Osan we're challenged with recovery operations, including the Force Support Squadron and other family-support facilities on base.

Exercise Beverly Midnight 14-03 began with the priority of giving all Airmen on base a Readiness Orientation briefing. The next priority during the exercise was testing emergency, recovery and defense operations, followed by testing the base's capability for executing command and control in a disaster/emergency environment. Lastly, performers were documented and evaluated by numerous Wing Inspection Team members across the base. The last day of the exercise was set aside for teams to discuss feedback and lessons learned during the exercise.
