Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Bryan Battaglia, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited with Airmen and Soldiers during a trip to Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, May 3, 2012.

Battaglia also serves as the highest enlisted member in the U.S Armed Forces. In these roles, he serves as the principal military advisor to the Chairman and the Secretary of Defense on all matters involving joint and combined total force integration, utilization, health of the force and joint development for enlisted personnel.

During the visit, Battaglia toured multiple units around base, including the Air Traffic Control Tower, radar approach and control, 25th Fighter Squadron, flight simulators and the 607th Air Operation Center.

Throughout his tour, Battaglia expressed the importance of the U.S ROK alliance and the role that Osan plays in the overall mission of U.S. Forces Korea.

"The daily mission here is very important," Battaglia said. "Throughout my entire Korean visit, I think what's impressed me most is the continued strength and relationship between the U.S. and South Korea."

Battaglia finished his tour of Osan with dinner at the Gingko Tree Dining Facility with junior enlisted Airmen as well as enlisted Soldiers.

"I must say, in the short time that I spent here, we've seen a lot of Airmen in a short amount of time, and I'm extremely impressed," Battaglia said.
