POW/MIA 24-hour run to begin Sept 17, ceremony on Sept 18

The POW/MIA 24-hour run is scheduled to start at 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 17 and end at 4 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Korean War Memorial (behind Turumi Lodging) here.

This is our way to show our appreciation for the men and women who haven't made it home yet," said Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Cavallaro, 51st Security Force Squadron NCO in charge of base defense and lead for the event. "We'll keep doing this until they all come home."

Uniform of the event will be either the Air Force PT uniform, appropriate civilian PT clothing with or without squadron morale t-shirts.

The National Prisoner of War/Missing in Action remembrance is observed the third week of September.

· If inclement weather, the run location could change to base gym track. A notification will be sent

· A list will posted at the gates for off-base residents during curfew hours.
