The 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade took home the inaugural Osan Cup trophy Sept. 30, 2014, at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea.

The competition was held Sept. 28 to Sept. 30, and was open to all squadrons, groups, divisions, tenant units and other organizations assigned to Osan. The competition was intended to see who is the most overall fittest, mentally and physically ready, while being tested in a variety of games and challenges.

"This event was about readiness, teamwork and fun, while building relationships across Team Osan," Col. Brook Leonard, 51st Fighter Wing commander. "These relationships will make us stronger and more ready to fight as an installation."

Events included: a chili cook-off, pie eating competition, pool, darts, Korean War jeopardy, track and field, soccer, power lifting, cross-fit, softball, dodge ball, golf, paintball, M-16 shooting, call of duty, tennis, bowling, basketball, an Individual Medical Readiness Rodeo, texas hold'em, a 10-kilometer run, duatholon and a tour de Osan.

In addition to the 35th ADA winning the overall trophy, there were three other categories for squadrons to win: the top large team, top medium team and top small team.

The top large team was the 35th ADA with 3,993 points.

The top medium team was the 51st Munitions Squadron with 2,904 points.

The top small team was the 51st Wing Staff Agencies with 2,912 points.

"This event was about getting to know new people in new places and learning what this base has to offer," Leonard said. "It's incredible to see the talent we have both on the field and in the back rooms playing Call of Duty or throwing darts. There are some incredibly talented people who participated in the events as well as those who designed them."
