MHS GENESIS is the new electronic health record for the military treatment facilities (MTF) to transition from TRICARE Online. It integrates inpatient and outpatient electronic health records across the continuum of care from the point of service to the MTF. It provides clients and providers with enhanced, secure technology to manage your health information. MTF across the Pacific transitioned TRICARE Online to MHS GENESIS on October 28, 2023.

How does this affect my access to health care?
As we transition to the new system, our staff will need to adjust to the new work flows, procedures and processes. During this time, you can expect to experience:
- Longer appointment times
- Reduced appointment availability
- Increased wait times at the pharmacy
- Increased wait times for lab and radiology
How will MHS GENESIS improve my overall experience?
MHS GENESIS allows you to securely access your electronic health records 24/7 and exchange messages with your military health care team when and where it is convenient for you.

It provides more efficient management of chronic, complex, and time-sensitive health conditions, provides automated real-time clinic decision support for health care teams, and increases patient engagement capabilities that allow patients to communicate directly with providers.
How do I access the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal?
To access the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, visit https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil. If you do not have a Common Access Card or MyPay account, you will need to create a free DS Logon to access to Patient Portal. Follow the link to create an account and once created, select 'Upgrade to Premium Account' to view your health records.

NOTE: Full Patient Portal access will not be available until October 28, 2023.
What can I do within the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal?
- Manage appointments
- Review clinical notes, referrals, and lab and test results
- Exchange secure messages with your health care provider
- Monitor health information and review your portal profile
- Request prescription renewals
- Look up high-quality, provider-approved health information related to health concerns, lab results and medications

What does the patient portal do?
Along with the new EHR, the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal is a secure website available 24/7 that gives you access to your health information. Through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, you can:
- View health information, including laboratory and radiology results
- Schedule appointments
- Communicate securely with care team
- Request prescription renewals
- Complete intake and screening forms in advance of appointments
- Access a health library
- The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal is replacing the TRICARE Online Secure Patient Portal.
What does this mean for me?
MHS GENESIS and the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal are replacing TRICARE Online, including the patient portal and secure messaging at this facility.
- If you have a current TRICARE Online account, it will migrate to MHS GENESIS in December 2023. No action is necessary by you.
- If you don’t already have a TRICARE Online account, you can log onto https://my.mhsgenesis.health.mil/ using your DS Logon Account.
- If don’t have a DS Logon Account or if you have questions about DS Logon, visit the milConnect website or call 1-800-538-9552.
What happens next?
Appointment availability for two months after launch may be affected, and appointment wait times may increase as our staff adjusts to new technology and workflows. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we integrate MHS GENESIS to provide you with top-notch care.
