Tech. Sgt. Charles Stewart, 51st Fighter Wing Chapel chaplains' assistant, receives a Stripes for Exceptional Performers promotion in a ceremony at the Osan Mustang Club, Dec. 18, 2012. Stewart was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the mission through hard work and determination. The STEP program allows major command, field operating agency and direct reporting unit commanders and senior Air Force officers with large enlisted populations to select a limited number of Airmen with exceptional potential for promotion to the grades of staff sergeant through master sergeant. The program accommodates unique circumstances, which in the commander's judgment clearly warrant promotion. Stewart was recognized for past and present efforts to include leading and organizing Operation Christmas Hope. Stewart led and organized more than 700 volunteers; ensured the safety and security of more than $50 thousand in donations, toys and food items snack items that will be distributed to 2,000 Korean orphans and foster children at 21 locationsĀ surrounding Osan Air Base.
